Nina Divito

Nina was born in Dublin, she began her education in Sallynoggin Senior College and went on to the Institute Of Art, Design and Technology, Dun Laoghaire, where she studied fine art . She then moved to England where she obtained a BA(Hons) Degree in Model Making for Design and Media at the Arts Institute Bournemouth. After gaining some experience in the film industry, she was accepted into the prestigious shoe making course in Cordwainers @ The London College of Fashion. On graduating from Cordwainers, Nina worked for a time, as a design assistant to shoe designer Olivia Morris in London.
Nina’s collections of paintings are based on her own design ideas. She paints fabulous portraits of shoes, instilling them with a dream like, surreal substance. When Nina paints, she does not only paint shoes, she captures a confident femininity, a playful sexuality and an assertive individuality. Nina has dedicated collectors worldwide and her exhibitions to date have sold out instantly.

In 2010 Nina launched her luxury footwear collection. Inspired by the passion, independence and appeal of her art collections transferred through the medium of her design experience and years of research and development, into a luxury footwear collection under her own name, Nina Divito. The collection, designed in Ireland, was developed for the international luxury market and made in one of Italy’s most renowned footwear factories using the age old techniques of the Venetian Shoemakers Guild. Nina’s shoe designs became collectors items instantly, her entire first and second collections sold out and her third collection was receiving huge interest from luxury retailers and department stores worldwide. That is when it all stopped. In 2009 Nina was diagnosed with opsoclonus-myoclonus syndrome an extremely rare auto-immune condition that effects the nervous system and left her unable to create her designs and artwork.
Finding My Flow
“Since then I have been on a personal journey of healing, growth and understanding of self. Illness, loss, motherhood and connection has lead me to a beautiful re-birthing of my work, what it is about and the sacred space it creates for me to be my true self without fear of judgement. The energy I hold when I create now is an open expression of my divine feminine and masculine flow. Honouring the cycle of clearing, releasing and being present is something my work allows me to do. It connects me to all of me the light, the dark, the strong, the soft, the happy, the sad, the wild and free me.

I’m excited to see where it will take me next.

Following my flow…..where will it go?” – Nina
